Agit Kabayel targets heavyweight title unification in Germany

German boxer Agit Kabayel, now the WBC heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title, is pursuing a unification bout with Russian WBA champion Murat Gassiev. Gassiev has said he is ready to travel to Germany, stating the location does not matter, and discussions are underway for a fight that could crown an undisputed champion.

The proposed match is expected to take place in a large German arena, with the Düsseldorf venue, capable of holding over 50,000 spectators, mentioned as a likely site. Usyk, who stepped aside from his three heavyweight titles, has publicly predicted that Kabayel would defeat fellow contender Daniel Dubois in a potential showdown, while also noting the rising talent Moses Itauma as a future threat.

If arranged, the fight would bring together the WBC and WBA heavyweight belts, moving the sport toward a single champion across the major sanctioning bodies.
