AGL to install 1.23MW solar project for Bega Group

AGL and Bega Group have partnered to install a 1.23-megawatt rooftop solar system at Bega Group’s food manufacturing facility in Wetherill Park, Western Sydney. The project involves more than 2,400 solar panels installed across the interconnected rooftops of the multi-building site.

The system is expected to reduce carbon emissions associated with electricity consumption by 9% during its first year of operation. The installation is approximately equivalent in size to 187 typical Australian household solar systems.

The project is being delivered through a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which allows Bega Group to access renewable energy without an upfront capital investment. Under this arrangement, AGL will build, own, and operate the system throughout its lifespan.
