Agmer teachers' union demands salary increases in Entre Ríos
The Asociación Gremial del Magisterio de Entre Ríos (Agmer) has issued a formal demand for significant salary recomposition, citing severe economic consequences under the administration of Governor Rogelio Frigerio. In a plenary meeting held in Villaguay, union leaders criticized the provincial government's adjustment policies, claiming that teachers have experienced a 45% loss in purchasing power relative to the basic food basket.
The union also highlighted tensions regarding the 'Escuela Itinerante' (Itinerant School) initiative. In Rosario del Tala, the union expressed frustration after educational authorities, specifically Departmental Director Analía Perotti, prohibited students from participating in a scheduled mental health workshop. Agmer argued that the decision, based on administrative circulars regarding deadlines, ignored the urgent mental health needs of adolescents and the best interests of the students.
