Agnė Bilotaitė: Prosecutors deny involvement in investigations
Lithuanian law enforcement agencies have stated they have no data suggesting that Agnė Bilotaitė is a suspect in any pre-trial investigations. The General Prosecutor's Office and the Special Investigation Service (STT) both confirmed that no charges have been brought against her.
Bilotaitė, a member of the Conservative Party, recently requested to relinquish her mandate in the Seimas, a request approved by the Central Electoral Commission. Her powers are set to expire on October 14. She cited personal reasons and the need to focus on her health as the motivations for her departure.
However, Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas has raised questions regarding the circumstances of her resignation, noting he possesses unconfirmed information that casts doubt on her stated motives. Olekas declined to disclose specific details, stating the information must still be verified, though he did not explicitly confirm if the matter relates to law enforcement actions.
