Agnieszka Gryszczyńska removed from National Prosecutor's Office cybercrime role
Professor Agnieszka Gryszczyńska has been removed from her position as Director of the Department for Cybercrime and Informatization at the National Prosecutor's Office in Poland. Following her removal, Gryszczyńska also decided to resign from her role as a prosecutor.
The decision has drawn sharp criticism from cybersecurity experts and Bartosz Grodecki, the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN). Grodecki described her departure as a “huge loss for the state institutions” and warned that it weakens the country's capacity to effectively prosecute cybercriminals.
Grodecki highlighted the increasing scale of digital threats, noting that according to Ministry of Digital Affairs data, national CSIRT teams handled nearly 273,000 cybersecurity incidents in 2025, a 144 percent increase from the previous year. He emphasized that the state should prioritize retaining experts with long-term experience in combating cybercrime during such periods of rising vulnerability.
