Agnieszka Osiecka and Jerzy Giedroyc correspondence published

The published correspondence between Polish poet Agnieszka Osiecka and editor Jerzy Giedroyc offers an intimate look into their intellectual and emotional relationship. The letters reveal a complex connection characterized by mutual fascination and subtle wordplay, transcending differences in age and life experience.

This publication provides a private perspective on two major figures of Polish culture. While Osiecka is widely known for her songwriting and poetry, and Giedroyc for his influential role as the editor of the Paris-based journal ‘Kultura’, their letters move beyond their public personas to show their personal vulnerabilities and intellectual curiosity. The exchange also highlights the historical context of their relationship, which previously drew interest from the Security Service due to their close ties.
