Marcin Romanowski's location disputed by Polish prosecutors
The whereabouts of former Polish Justice Minister Marcin Romanowski have become a subject of intense legal and political scrutiny. Romanowski submitted a request to the District Court in Warsaw for a travel permit, declaring in his letter that he is currently residing in the Transnistria region of Moldova.
However, the National Prosecutor's Office has expressed opposition to the issuance of the permit, characterizing his reported stay in Transnistria as a bluff. Investigations by journalists and authorities have raised significant doubts regarding his location. While Romanowski claimed to be in Tyraspol, reports indicate that a letter related to his case was actually sent from Bendery. Furthermore, Moldovan police chief Diana Fetco-Cupet stated that there are no official records of Romanowski entering the Republic of Moldova.
Polish authorities have noted that Romanowski does not appear in the border crossing registries of Moldova, Romania, or Ukraine. In response to the ongoing uncertainty, private investigator Krzysztof Rutkowski has announced an investigation into Romanowski's whereabouts, offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to his specific location.
