Agniveer Nitin Kumar represents India in international rowing

Nitin Kumar, an Agniveer soldier in the Indian Army from Karnal, Haryana, has risen from a novice to an international rower. After joining the army in 2023, his talent was identified during training at a regimental center in Delhi. Supported by the Army Sports Nodes, he underwent specialized training to reach international fitness and skill standards.

Kumar’s competitive achievements include winning a gold medal at the first Khelo India Water Sports Games in 2025 and a bronze medal at the 42nd Senior National Rowing Championship that same year. He secured another gold medal at the 43rd Senior National Rowing Championship in 2026.

On the international stage, Kumar represented India at the World Rowing Championships in Belgium in 2026. He also competed in the 20th Asian Games in Japan alongside teammate Jaswinder Singh, where he secured a seventh-place finish in his first continental competition.
