Agoda identifies rising anime-inspired travel trends across Asia

Digital travel platform Agoda has identified a growing trend of anime-inspired tourism across Asia, where fans visit real-world locations that resemble settings from popular animated series.

Key destinations include Hokuei in Tottori, Japan, the birthplace of Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama, which features themed streets and a manga factory. In Nagakute, Japan, Ghibli Park offers life-sized walk-through sets inspired by Studio Ghibli films.

Other notable locations include Jiufen, Taiwan, which is noted for its resemblance to the bathhouse town in Spirited Away, and Busan, South Korea, a hub for the animation industry.
