Agoda report shows AI agents outpacing organizational readiness

An Agoda AI Developer Report 2026 indicates that AI agents are being integrated into production workflows across Southeast Asia and India faster than many organizations are prepared for. The study, which surveyed over 800 developers and engineering leaders, found that 53% of respondents report AI agents are already in production or in broad use within their organizations.

While adoption is high—particularly among CTOs and vice-presidents—readiness levels lag. Only 38% of respondents believe their codebase is prepared for fully autonomous agents. The report highlights a discrepancy in organizational size: smaller companies (1 to 50 employees) are more likely to claim codebase readiness, whereas larger companies (201 to 1,000 employees) report higher rates of actual production use despite lower perceived readiness.

Efficiency gains are notable, with 55% of developers saving at least seven hours per week through AI use. This represents a significant increase from 18% in 2025. Adoption rates are highest in Thailand, followed by Vietnam and Singapore.
