Agorà International Aesthetic Medicine Congress opens in Milan

The 28th edition of the Agorà International Aesthetic Medicine Congress has opened at the Allianz MiCo South in Milan, running from October 15 to 17. The event features 821 scientific contributions and 566 speakers representing 26 countries and four continents.

Prior to the congress, the first National Day for Safety in Aesthetic Medicine was presented in Rome at Agenas. This initiative focuses on protecting health, preventing clinical risk, and increasing public awareness regarding medical-aesthetic treatments.

Agorà President Maurizio Cavallini emphasized that medical decisions should be based on scientific data rather than social media trends, noting that new devices or techniques are only indicated when evidence shows real benefits and acceptable risks for a specific patient. Magda Belmontesi, Agorà Vice President, added that patient protection begins when individuals can distinguish a medical consultation from a commercial proposal.

The congress is supported by 22 scientific societies. Additionally, the Smiem school, part of Agorà, is marking its 40th anniversary, having graduated over 1,500 students through its four-year program.
