Agora launches ‘Gotowi na wolność?’ documentary series

Agora has launched a new video documentary series titled ‘Gotowi na wolność?’ (Ready for Freedom?), which will be published weekly on Gazeta.pl and YouTube. The series aims to feature interviews recorded within correctional facilities, allowing incarcerated individuals to discuss the decisions that led to their imprisonment, their personal transformations during their sentences, and their perceptions of life after release.

The project, directed by Nina Cieślińska and hosted by criminal journalist Hanna Dobrowolska, intends to explore the challenges former prisoners face when re-entering a world that has changed technologically and socially. The series plans to release 24 episodes by the end of the year.

The premiere episode features Marta Z., a woman serving a 25-year sentence for the death of her 15-month-old son in 2005. Having spent over 20 years in prison, she discusses her past, including a history of domestic violence and the circumstances surrounding her conviction, as she prepares for potential release in three years.
