agorum Software expands ALBERT | AI with new cost control plugin

agorum Software GmbH has expanded its ALBERT | AI Suite with the introduction of the ALBERT | AI Kostenkontrolle (Cost Control) plugin. Designed for the agorum core pro business platform, the tool logs all artificial intelligence usage to track costs associated with specific processes, users, and models.

The development was prompted by an internal error where an image tagging process ran in a loop for an entire day, resulting in a cost of 1,400 euros instead of the typical 80 euros. The plugin provides detailed logs including timestamps, user data, model presets, tool calls, estimated costs, and token consumption.

A key feature is the anomaly check, which compares recent usage against daily averages and alerts users via email or notes if irregularities are detected. Rather than automatically shutting down processes to prevent costs, the system issues warnings to allow human operators to decide whether to continue, switch models, or make corrections, thereby avoiding the interruption of critical tasks.
