Agostina Vega femicide case moves to trial

Prosecutor Raúl Garzón has moved the femicide case of 14-year-old Agostina Vega to trial, naming Claudio Barrelier as the alleged perpetrator. Barrelier faces potential life imprisonment for charges including sexual abuse and triple homicide involving gender violence, treachery, and criminis causa.

The indictment also includes five individuals charged with concealment: Marianela Palmero, Soledad Andreani, and three tenants of the residence where the crime occurred in May.

Gabriel, the victim's father, has rejected the decision and announced plans to appeal. He contends that the investigation is incomplete and that more accomplices should be held accountable, specifically requesting the detention of additional relatives and associates. The family has organized a protest march to demand a more thorough investigation.
