Agostina Vega femicide investigation uncovers DNA under victim's nails

Investigators in Córdoba have identified genetic material beneath the fingernails of 15‑year‑old Agostina Vega, who was found dead on 30 May 2026. Forensic analysis detected two DNA profiles, suggesting the presence of a defender and an assailant, or possibly multiple attackers.

The case currently includes three detainees: Claudio Gabriel Barrelier, the primary suspect; Osvaldo Fassetta, a neighbor whose role is still being examined; and Soledad Andreani, the owner of the vehicle allegedly used to transport Vega’s body. Prosecutors are analyzing the new biological evidence to clarify the events leading up to the femicide, while the investigation remains under a ten‑day secrecy order.
