Agra man detained after allegedly throwing infant daughter into Yamuna River

In Agra, a man identified as Rinku has been detained after allegedly throwing his 11-month-old daughter into the Yamuna River from a bridge. The incident reportedly occurred following a domestic dispute with his wife.

According to police, the man arrived at the Akbara Yamuna bridge on a motorcycle with his family. After an argument, he allegedly threw the infant into the river and attempted to throw his wife into the water as well. The woman was able to raise an alarm, allowing bystanders to intervene and rescue her.

Local citizens reportedly overpowered and assaulted the suspect before police arrived to take him into custody. Authorities have launched a search-and-rescue operation involving divers to locate the child.
