The Lichterfest in agra Park, Markkleeberg, is scheduled for August 29, 2026, from 17:00 to 23:00. The event features silent film screenings, musical performances on three stages, and museum nights at the German Photo Museum and the Tin Figure Museum.

Musical acts include the Young Symphony Orchestra, the Percussion Ensemble of the Leipzig District Music and Art School, the indie folk duo Deen and Blumenstein, Eddy Soto, the Alkatrib Trio, and the Markkleeberg City Fanfare Band. The festival also includes light shows by Freaks on Fire, stilt-walking performances, and a lantern parade for children. Admission to the festival is free.
