Agramunt hosts 37th Nougat and Chocolate Fair

The 37th edition of the Fira del Torró i la Xocolata a la Pedra is taking place in Agramunt, Spain. The event features approximately 50 exhibitors and various workshops, tastings, and lectures focused on the local confectionery industry.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) for Torró d'Agramunt. Last year, producers under this IGP manufactured 80,000 kilograms of nougat, generating an economic value of 3 million euros and placing 270,000 numbered labels on the market. The sector is looking to increase exports to strengthen its international presence.

Participating companies are introducing diverse innovations to attract year-round consumers. Torrons Vicens is presenting flavors such as wasabi, spices, and custard, alongside collaborations with renowned chefs. Other local producers, such as Torrons Fèlix and Roig, are also showcasing new products and traditional recipes. Additionally, the event includes the 3rd Torró Academy, which hosted approximately 140 hospitality students to learn about the history and innovation of the craft.
