Agrana to acquire flavor manufacturer esarom for 150 million euros

Agrana Beteiligungs-AG has announced its intention to acquire 100 percent of esarom gmbh and esarom holding gmbh, an Austrian flavor manufacturer, for an enterprise value of approximately 150 million euros.

Based in Oberrohrbach, esarom specializes in developing and producing aromas, powders, emulsions, and functional mixtures for the food and beverage industry. The company employs nearly 400 people and reported revenues of approximately 112 million euros in the 2025 fiscal year.

Agrana CEO Stephan Büttner stated that the acquisition aims to combine esarom’s expertise with Agrana’s existing fruit preparations and juice concentrates to offer integrated, high-value solutions. The transaction is expected to close at the beginning of the 2027/28 fiscal year, subject to regulatory approvals.
