Agrícola Kamuk targets 50% growth in grape exports from Arequipa

Agrícola Kamuk projects a 50% increase in grape export volume for the 2026 campaign, aiming to grow from approximately 100 containers in 2025 to 150 containers. This growth is driven by an expansion of planted hectares in the Arequipa region of southern Peru.

Jesús Revilla, general manager of Agrícola Kamuk, noted that Arequipa’s competitive advantage lies in its extended production window, which spans from April to December. This allows the company to supply markets during periods when other Peruvian regions, such as Ica or the north, lack production. Specifically, the company has identified demand in several Asian countries for early-season fruit.

The current campaign has started earlier than in previous years. However, the El Niño phenomenon remains a primary source of uncertainty. While anomalous rains and strong winds have already been recorded in the region, experts suggest that Arequipa may face a lower impact compared to northern Peru or Ica, though the exact level of impact is still being determined.

Regarding pricing, the campaign began with higher values than last year due to demand, though the entry of supplies from the United States and California has begun to moderate field prices.
