Agri-food sector experts discuss sustainability and innovation in Spain
Agricultural leaders and technology experts recently convened in Spain to address the evolution of the agri-food sector. During an online forum organized by the Official College of Agronomists of Castilla y León and Cantabria, César Reales Ajo, Managing Director of AGROPAL, detailed the growth of the cooperative. Since 1989, Reales has overseen the expansion of AGROPAL into a major entity representing over 8,000 farmers and ranchers, diversifying from cereal commercialization into feed manufacturing, dairy production, and traditional cheese making.
In a separate initiative at the Fruit Attraction event in Madrid, Málaga TechPark participated in workshops under the European AgriFood4Future project. These sessions focused on transitioning toward more sustainable agricultural practices, specifically addressing pesticide risk assessment and soilless cultivation. The workshops aimed to identify new training and knowledge requirements to meet the evolving technical demands of the industry.
