Vietnam passes new military laws and Agribank signs enforcement pact

The National Assembly of Vietnam has passed a law amending nine military and defense-related laws, effective September 1, 2026. Key changes include updated regulations for reserve officer age limits and the classification of military titles for provincial and commune-level commands. The new law also introduces stricter provisions regarding military service obligations, specifically defining and prohibiting evasion during registration, medical examinations, and enlistment processes.

In a separate development, Agribank and the Civil Judgment Enforcement Administration (Ministry of Justice) signed a memorandum of understanding in Hanoi to enhance cooperation. The partnership focuses on improving the efficiency of civil judgment enforcement through digital transformation and information sharing. The agreement aims to facilitate the verification of enforcement conditions, the freezing of accounts, the handling of secured assets, and the recovery of bad debts. Both parties will also collaborate on professional training and the application of financial technology to support enforcement activities.
