Vietnamese banks warn iPhone users of P7 DarkSword malware

Major Vietnamese banks, including Agribank, VietinBank, and BIDV, have issued urgent warnings to iPhone users regarding the P7 DarkSword malware variant. This malware is designed to exploit security vulnerabilities in the iOS operating system to infiltrate devices, potentially allowing attackers to steal passwords, authentication credentials, and personal data.

The banks recommend that customers immediately update their iOS to the latest compatible version to ensure security patches are applied. To mitigate risks, financial institutions advise users to avoid clicking suspicious links sent via messages, emails, or social media, and to refrain from downloading applications or files from unverified sources.

Additionally, customers are cautioned never to provide account information, passwords, or OTP codes to anyone, and to avoid entering banking credentials on untrusted websites or applications. These measures aim to protect digital assets and personal information against increasingly sophisticated online fraud and malware exploitation.
