Agribank staff and police prevent 1 billion VND fraud in Ha Tinh

Police in Tu My Commune, Ha Tinh Province, successfully prevented a fraud attempt involving more than 1 billion VND in savings. The incident occurred when a local woman, identified as Ms. L. T. M., was targeted by scammers impersonating local police officers.

The perpetrators claimed Ms. M.'s personal information had been compromised and used to open bank accounts linked to drug trafficking. Through psychological manipulation and threats, the scammers instructed her to withdraw her savings from an Agribank branch and transfer the funds to designated accounts without informing her relatives.

An Agribank employee noticed suspicious behavior during the transaction and alerted the local police. Officers arrived at the bank to intervene, and after being briefed on the scam at the police station, Ms. M. realized she had nearly lost her entire savings.
