Agribusiness leaders gather to discuss fertilizer markets and technology

The 20th Sindiadubos NPK Symposium is scheduled for October 22, 2026, in Curitiba, Brazil. As the country’s largest in-person event for the fertilizer and soil amendment industry, the symposium expects to host 1,200 professionals from over 350 agribusiness companies. Discussions will focus on crop nutrition, geopolitical impacts on commodity prices, and freight costs affecting fertilizer availability.

Industry leaders are calling for federal government intervention to address domestic challenges, including higher taxes on agricultural inputs, credit constraints, and minimum freight rate schedules. These factors are cited as significant pressures on Brazilian farming productivity and investment.

In a separate development, the Sistema Faep has concluded a series of technical missions to the United States. A final delegation of 32 producers and rural leaders visited various states, including California, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri, to study advancements in artificial intelligence, automation, and irrigation technologies for application in Paraná’s agricultural sector.
