Agricover invests 12 million lei in farmer-focused financial platform

Agricover, a major Romanian agricultural input distributor, has invested 12 million lei in the development of Agricover Pay, a financial platform designed specifically for the agricultural sector. Described as the first of its kind in Europe, the mobile application integrates various financial services into a single interface.

Developed in partnership with Visa and Libra Internet Bank, the platform allows farmers to manage payments, access credit through Agricover Credit IFN, and utilize a Visa Platinum Business card. The service also provides real-time agricultural market data, including price trends for cereals, fuel, and fertilizers.

Agricover Payments, an authorized payment institution supervised by the National Bank of Romania, manages the financial infrastructure. The company intends to begin enrolling its existing 10,000 clients and partners in January, with plans to double its customer base over the next three to five years.
