Agricultural and meat production initiatives advance in Venezuela and Argentina
In Venezuela, the Institute for Productive Development of the José Antonio Páez Municipality (Imdepro) has launched an agro-food reactivation plan. The initiative includes intensive animal protein production and grain development. Specifically, the organization has rehabilitated the Nuevo Molino facilities, establishing a 345-square-meter poultry fattening warehouse for continuous 40-day production cycles. Additionally, the program has begun rice seedling production using certified seeds, with an estimated harvest of 40 tons intended to support cultivation across more than 200 hectares.
In Argentina, discussions are advancing in Guardia Mitre regarding the creation of a private slaughterhouse. Driven by producer Claudio Pérez and supported by Mayor Miguel Evans, the project seeks to establish a formal circuit for meat processing and commercialization under sanitary controls. This initiative aligns with proposed modifications to the provincial Meat Law, which aims to provide regulatory tools to authorize smaller-scale slaughtering establishments throughout Río Negro province.
