Agricultural authorities implement support for dairy and rural producers in Bolivia and Colombia

In Bolivia, PRO-BOLIVIA is working with authorities in Vallegrande, Santa Cruz, to strengthen the regional dairy sector. Officials held meetings to socialize the ‘Mi Bolivia Lechera’ bill and the ‘Dairy Sector Emergency Support Program.’ Following inspections of local stables and farms, authorities identified critical needs in financing, infrastructure, technical improvements, and the availability of supplies to boost competitiveness.

In Colombia, the Magdalena Department's Secretariat of Economic Development is establishing a support route for rural producers in Fundación and Algarrobo who have reported production losses. Led by Secretary Diana Pezzano, the initiative includes creating an updated census of affected animals and vaccination records to determine the scope of impact. Additionally, the administration is working on technical and administrative adjustments to fulfill a commitment to supply silage to the area, a process expected to take one to two months.
