Agricultural aviation congress opens in Goiás to discuss record fleet
The Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Congress opened on August 18 in Goianápolis, Goiás. Organized by the National Union of Agricultural Aviation Companies (Sindag), the event brings together over 200 international brands to discuss operational safety, technology, professional qualification, and rising costs.
Brazil currently maintains the second-largest agricultural aviation fleet in the world, trailing only the United States. By the end of 2025, the national fleet reached 2,866 manned aircraft and helicopters, representing a 5.25% annual increase and a 91.3% growth since 2009. The fleet is split nearly evenly between domestic production (51%) and foreign imports (49%).
While the sector is expanding, particularly in states like Goiás and Mato Grosso, it faces significant economic challenges. These include high interest rates, currency fluctuations, taxation, and a reliance on foreign-made engines and components, which exposes the industry to global supply chain issues and exchange rate volatility.
