Agricultural Bank of Egypt reports 25% growth in financing

The Agricultural Bank of Egypt has reported a 25% growth in total financing over the last six months. According to CEO Mohamed Abu El-Saoud, the bank's loan portfolio has exceeded 110 billion Egyptian pounds, up from approximately 88 billion pounds in December 2025.

The agricultural sector accounts for roughly 70% of the bank's credit portfolio, with 36 billion pounds specifically directed toward small-scale farmers. The bank is currently prioritizing digital transformation to improve access to banking and financing services in rural areas.

These results were announced during the opening of the 38th Sahara International Agriculture Exhibition, where the bank serves as a platinum sponsor. The event was attended by Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa El-Din Farouk, and the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Sewilam.
