Agricultural challenges emerge in Chad and Senegal

In Senegal, rice farmers in the Bakel department staged a protest march against SENELEC. The demonstrators expressed frustration over the shutdown of their pumping stations, which they claim threatens their livelihoods and food self-sufficiency. Representatives delivered a memorandum to local administrative authorities, demanding transparent billing and a sincere dialogue with the utility provider to resolve the electricity issues affecting their irrigation systems.
