Agricultural commodity prices show mixed trends in the Netherlands

Agricultural commodity prices in the Netherlands show divergent trends across animal feed and fresh produce. According to Wageningen Social & Economic Research, mixed feed prices rose by an average of 45 cents per 100 kilograms in August, a sharper increase than seen in June or July. Notable rises include maize kernel mash, which increased by 75 cents, and beef steer mash, which rose by 70 cents. Overall, current price levels remain more than 1.50 euros higher than in August of the previous year.

In the fresh produce sector, the AGF-monitor reports fluctuating prices for week 35. Strawberry prices saw a significant decrease, while blueberries became more expensive, rising by an average of 0.23 euros to 3.94 euros. Prices for broccoli and cucumbers remained relatively stable, with cucumber averaging 0.77 euros and broccoli averaging 1.28 euros. Mango and greenhouse tomato prices also remained steady.
