Agricultural drones transform crop spraying in Vadodara, India

Farmers in the Vadodara district of Gujarat are increasingly adopting agricultural drones to streamline crop spraying operations. The technology allows for the efficient application of inputs such as Nano Urea and Nano DAP, significantly reducing the physical labor and time required compared to traditional methods. Operators report that a single acre of land can be sprayed in approximately five minutes.

Government initiatives are supporting this technological shift through the provision of drones, specialized training for operators, and financial subsidies. To ensure affordability, a subsidy scheme allows farmers to access spraying services for a contribution of Rs 100 per acre, while the government provides a subsidy of Rs 500 per acre.
