Regional festivals and autumn markets scheduled across Austria and Germany

Various regional festivals, markets, and community events are scheduled across Austria and Germany.

In Klagenfurt, Austria, the Herbstmesse has opened, featuring approximately 500 exhibitors from 14 nations. The event covers fashion, construction, and culinary themes, with an estimated revenue of one million euros for the fair organizers and a significant economic multiplier effect for the region.

In Germany, several local initiatives are underway. Bad Honnef is hosting a Fairtrade Week in September 2026, featuring 16 specialty shops. In Neubrandenburg, traffic restrictions are planned for September 18 due to various events and political assemblies. Ganderkesee will host its autumn market and a rock night, while Erfurt holds its 35th Autumn and Cereal Market.

Other notable events include the Rosenheimer Bauernherbst in Bavaria, the Schwerin Altstadtfete, and an Oktoberfest celebration at Hof Menken in Castrop-Rauxel. Conversely, the Handwerks-Herbst in Lünen has been canceled due to insufficient student registrations. In Braunschweig, the restaurant chain Burger Vision is expanding with a new location.
