Agricultural festivals celebrate rural traditions in Portugal

Various regional agricultural festivals are taking place in Portugal, highlighting local traditions and rural heritage.

In Palmela, the Festas das Vindimas features the Cortejo dos Camponeses. This parade, scheduled for Sunday morning, includes participants in traditional attire to represent historical agricultural activities and grape harvesting, aiming to preserve the collective memory and cultural identity of the region.

In Fermentões, Guimarães, the Festa do Agricultor concludes with an ethnographic parade. Organized by the local Casa do Povo since 1977, the event includes a commemorative mass and a parade starting from Alameda Alfredo Pimenta. The festivities typically feature folklore festivals and livestock competitions to showcase traditional farming tools and instruments.
