Agricultural festivals promote local produce in Moldova and Romania

Regional agricultural festivals are taking place in Moldova and Romania to promote local produce. In Cimișlia, Moldova, the 11th National Grape Festival is hosting approximately 35 producers from the central and southern regions. The event focuses exclusively on table grapes and includes competitions such as ‘Golden Vine’ and a ‘giant grape’ contest, where the winning cluster is auctioned. The festival is supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

In Svinița, Romania, the 27th edition of the Fig Festival is scheduled for late August. The event showcases various fig-based products, including jams, wines, liqueurs, and pastries. Beyond gastronomy, the festival features cultural performances and roundtables aimed at supporting the cultivation and commercialization of figs for local producers.
