Agricultural institutions in Dominican Republic and Argentina pursue academic cooperation

In the Dominican Republic, Francis Herrera Sánchez, Director of the Department of Food Safety at the Ministry of Agriculture, met with authorities from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) in San Juan de la Maguana. The meeting focused on strengthening academic and professional training for agronomy students and graduates through specialized courses, diplomas, and master's programs to better align academia with the needs of the agricultural sector.

In Argentina, the Faculty of Bromatology at the Universidad Nacional de Entre Ríos met with representatives from the El Potrero Reserve to discuss cooperation in research, animal health, and sustainable resource management. Key topics included studying the sanitary status of wild boar populations regarding trichinosis and exploring ways to utilize meat from controlled animal populations, such as deer, as a social protein source.
