Agricultural land prices in Lot-et-Garonne exceed national average
In the first half of 2026, agricultural land in the Lot-et-Garonne department sold for an average of 8,720 euros per hectare. This figure is 49 percent higher than the French national average of 5,850 euros per hectare and significantly exceeds the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional average of 5,175 euros.
Data from 108 transactions indicates that the median price in the department reached 7,986 euros per hectare. This trend follows similar high valuations observed in 2025. The high market value is attributed to a diverse range of crops, a limited supply of land reserved for livestock, and the high revenue-generating capacity of local farms.
While Lot-et-Garonne maintains prices comparable to the Landes and Tarn-et-Garonne departments, it remains notably higher than neighboring areas such as Dordogne, Gers, Lot, and Gironde.
