Agricultural leaders visit Reichenau vegetable producers

Regional political and agricultural leaders recently conducted site visits to vegetable production facilities in Mühlingen and on the Reichenau Island to discuss the sector's economic landscape. The delegation included representatives from the Freiburg Regional Council, state politics, and the Badischer Landwirtschaftlicher Hauptverband (BLHV).

Discussions focused on critical challenges facing domestic vegetable producers, including rising costs, international competitive pressure, bureaucracy, and increasing regulatory requirements. The visit also addressed structural changes within the Reichenau-Gemüse eG cooperative following the termination of memberships by producers in the Singen-Beuren horticultural settlement, prompting a strategic review by the cooperative.
