Agricultural markets see rising pig and potato prices

Agricultural markets are seeing fluctuations in livestock and crop pricing. In the pig sector, German VEZG rates rose by 10 cents to 1.60 euro/kg, signaling strong demand despite limited supply. While Polish hog prices remain higher than the German benchmark—averaging approximately 7.08 PLN net/kg for class E carcasses—some Polish collection points are beginning to adjust their rates.

Simultaneously, the potato market is experiencing significant price surges for fry production. According to PotatoNL, category 1 potatoes used by large industrial plants in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany saw price increases of up to 8 euro per 100 kg in a single week. Specific varieties like Agria, Markies, and Victoria have seen lower price limits rise by as much as 12 euro per 100 kg over a two-week period.
