Agricultural plane crashes into daycare in Campo Verde, Brazil
An agricultural aircraft crashed into the Cora Coralina daycare center in Campo Verde, Mato Grosso, on Friday, November 23. Security footage captured the moment the plane struck the roof of a nearby Basic Health Unit (UBS) before crashing through a wall of the daycare facility.
The daycare, which serves approximately 180 children, was not hosting students in the specific multi-use room hit by the aircraft at the time of impact. Local officials reported that teachers successfully evacuated children from neighboring classrooms, and no children or staff members were injured.
The 28-year-old pilot was the only person injured, suffering moderate wounds to his head and chest. He was treated by firefighters and transferred to a hospital in Rondonópolis, where he remained in stable condition.
Authorities stated the aircraft was being used for crop spraying but was not carrying any chemical pesticides at the time of the accident. Due to the structural damage, classes at the daycare were suspended until Wednesday, November 28, and services at the affected health unit were temporarily halted.
