Agricultural plane crashes into daycare in Campo Verde, Brazil

An agricultural monomotor aircraft crashed into the grounds of the Cora Coralina daycare center in Campo Verde, Mato Grosso, on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred in an area approximately 400 meters from the takeoff runway, hitting a section of the building not used by students.

The 28-year-old pilot was the only person injured. Rescuers found him conscious and seated outside the immediate impact zone, suffering from a head wound, swelling, and a chest deformity. He was stabilized by the Military Firefighters Corps (CBMMT) and SAMU before being transported to the Coração de Jesus Municipal Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

No children or staff members at the facility, which serves 180 students, were injured. Emergency teams isolated the area to manage a fuel leak and prevent potential fires. Local authorities, including the Civil and Military Police and Civil Defense, assisted in securing the site while investigations into the cause of the crash begin.
