Agricultural price shifts reported in North Sumatra and South Bengkulu

Agricultural commodity prices in Indonesia are seeing shifts in North Sumatra and South Bengkulu. In North Sumatra, the price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (TBS) for palm oil saw an increase for the period of August 19-25, 2026. For palm trees aged 10-20 years, the price rose to Rp3,917.50 per kilogram, an increase of Rp15.40 from the previous week. Other age groups saw varying rates, with 21-year-old trees priced at Rp3,921.12 per kg and 30-year-old trees at Rp3,346.01 per kg. Additionally, the average price for local and export Crude Palm Oil (CPO) was set at Rp15,543.87 per kilogram.

Conversely, farmers in South Bengkulu are experiencing relief as subsidized fertilizer prices have dropped by approximately 20 percent. Following government policy to reduce production costs, Urea is now priced at Rp90,000 per bag, while NPK is priced at Rp92,000 per bag, down from previous rates of around Rp120,000. The government has also increased the subsidized fertilizer quota for the region to support farmers entering the planting season.
