Agricultural product prices show significant volatility in Montenegro and Serbia
Recent data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in Montenegro reveals sharp fluctuations in food prices. Between October 1 and October 15, green cabbage prices rose by 108.7 percent compared to last year, while red cabbage increased by 59.09 percent. Imported butter saw a rapid price spike, increasing by nearly 50 percent in just two weeks compared to late September.
Other notable increases include sweet white pepper, which rose 31.87 percent annually, and young potatoes, which saw a 22.5 percent increase. In Serbia, livestock market trends vary by region. While fattening pig prices rose in Kikinda, reaching 250 dinars per kilogram, other regions like Mačva and Podrinje reported price decreases for certain categories of livestock. Prices for fattening bulls also fluctuated, with increases noted in Kraljevo and Pančevo due to low supply.
