Agricultural production expands in Ha Tinh and Hai Phong
Agricultural activities are seeing significant expansion and diversification across Vietnam's Ha Tinh and Hai Phong provinces.
In Ha Tinh, various sectors are driving economic growth. The province has harvested nearly 10,000 tons of pineapple through enterprise linkages, achieving an average yield of 46.3 tons per hectare. Other regional developments include the cultivation of agarwood in Rao Tre village to support ethnic minority communities, the expansion of civet breeding in Nghi Xuan, and the preparation of flower crops for the Lunar New Year. Additionally, the implementation of the electronic fishing vessel traceability system (eCDT) has seen an increase, with the rate of vessels complying reaching 57.35%.
In Hai Phong, the winter crop sector is expanding rapidly. The city aims to plant 28,500 hectares of winter vegetables in 2026, representing a 3-5% increase over previous plans. As of late October, approximately 18,000 hectares have already been planted, reaching 65% of the target. Key crops include onions, garlic, cabbage, and carrots, with many farmers accelerating planting schedules by 10 to 20 days to meet market demand.
