Cipinang Rice Market inspection confirms abundant stocks and stable prices
Perum BULOG and Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) conducted a sudden inspection at the Cipinang Rice Market (PIBC) in Jakarta to monitor rice availability, supply, and pricing. The inspection confirmed that rice stocks are abundant and the supply flow from production centers in West Java, Central Java, and East Java is running smoothly.
Officials, including Commission IV Chair Siti Hediati Hariyadi and BULOG President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, noted that market prices remain controlled and affordable for the public. The visit emphasized the importance of efficient distribution from producers and BULOG to retailers to ensure national food security.
In West Java, rice prices remained stable as of October 2, 2026, with various quality grades available at consistent rates. While rice prices held steady, some other commodities like shallots saw slight decreases due to harvests in Central and East Java.
