Agricultural products and political campaigning in Taiwan

In Chiayi County, the Fanlu Township Farmers Association has launched the ‘Yin Bing Shi Cha Ji’ initiative to promote local agricultural specialties. The collection features persimmons, tea, and seasonal vegetables. The association has developed various processed goods, including persimmon cakes, persimmon leaf tea, and even a persimmon leaf refreshing spray, to add value to local crops.

In Pingtung County, citrus farmers in Dongshan are experiencing an early harvest of green-skin ponkan oranges due to climate change. The harvest, which typically occurs in October, has moved up to late September. Farmers are distributing these large, juicy oranges and traditionally dried longan to various regions.

Meanwhile, in Chiayi, political candidate Tsai Yi-yu visited the Zhukei market to engage with local vendors. During the visit, Tsai received radishes, which are traditionally seen as symbols of good luck, as the election campaign enters its final 30 days.
