Formosa launches 2026-2027 maize and cucurbit agricultural campaign

The Government of Formosa has launched the 2026-2027 agricultural campaign for first-season maize and cucurbits. The initiative aims to support more than 1,500 'paippera' families across the province.

Events marking the launch were held in Pirané and Las Lomitas. The program provides strategic inputs, including high-quality seeds and fuel for soil preparation, alongside permanent technical assistance. The initiative is coordinated by the Instituto PAIPPA in collaboration with the Ministry of Production and Environment, CEDEVA, and local municipalities.

Officials stated that the program is designed to strengthen local production and advance food sovereignty. Additionally, the planning includes preventative measures to help producers manage potential impacts from the El Niño weather phenomenon.
