Agricultural initiatives and livestock developments in Latin America

Various agricultural and livestock developments are being implemented across Latin America. In Peru, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) is organizing the ConectAgro PAE 2026 virtual business round. This initiative aims to connect over 60 family farming organizations with companies supplying the School Feeding Program (PAE), offering products such as rice, quinoa, and dairy.

In Argentina, the province of Formosa is strengthening its food sovereignty through several programs. The PAIPPA Institute and the Formosa Food Sovereignty Program (SAF) have facilitated direct sales for small producers, including recent livestock commercialization in Ingeniero Juárez and Laguna Blanca. Additionally, a new agreement with Banco Formosa allows for a 10% rebate on purchases made via the Onda digital wallet to support SMEs and producers.

In the livestock sector, new regulations from SENASA will allow Argentine producers to choose private veterinarians for foot-and-mouth disease vaccination starting in February 2027. Meanwhile, in Paraguay, the Pioneros del Chaco is preparing a soybean conference focused on productivity and market value, anticipating a 10% to 20% increase in soybean surface area for the upcoming campaign.
