Agricultural support payments reach 106 billion lira in six months

Agricultural support payments have reached 106 billion lira in the first six months of the year, according to Ministry statistics. Out of a total annual agricultural support budget of 167.6 billion lira, 2.9 million farmers have benefited from these funds.

Of the total payments made, 79.6% were allocated to plant production, 18.1% to animal production, 1.7% to rural development, and 0.3% each to R&D and aquaculture. Specific allocations included approximately 84.4 billion lira for plant production and 19.2 billion lira for animal production.

In a related strategic context, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş emphasized a focus on modernizing the sector through technology and sustainable water management. He noted that the agricultural support budget has seen a 321% increase under the current administration, aiming to ensure food security and economic development through improved infrastructure and scientific integration.
